Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies and plans aligned with the vision the University of Johannesburg.
  • Good knowledge of cost estimate models.
  • To provide a professional Quantity Surveying service to UJ within a predefined budget and according to financial policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Good knowledge of JBCC and other building contracts.
  • Good knowledge of standard system for measurement of building work.
  • Good knowledge of Maintenance contracts.
  • Good knowledge of procurement procedures.
  • To manage the project’s finances during the construction process and to ensure that the project is completed within the budget constraints.
  • To assist the Operations Department in effectively utilising and applying the Quantity Surveyor function in construction related work.
  • To ensure that information flows continuously and that it is interpreted and processed correctly to achieve the goal that will meet the client’s needs.
  • To perform multifunctional activities within approved policies and procedures related to acquisition and administration.
  • To assist in the compilation and management of capital and maintenance budgets and financial reports.
  • Good knowledge of Tender procedures
  • Good knowledge of Construction technology
  • Good knowledge of Tender document production

  • Ability to work in a team.

Recommendations:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Project Management.
  • Microsoft Enterprise Project Management Software
  • Knowledge of PPO Project Management Software
