Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies and plans aligned with the vision the University of Johannesburg.
- Good knowledge of cost estimate models.
- To provide a professional Quantity Surveying service to UJ within a predefined budget and according to financial policies, procedures and best practices.
- Good knowledge of JBCC and other building contracts.
- Good knowledge of standard system for measurement of building work.
- Good knowledge of Maintenance contracts.
- Good knowledge of procurement procedures.
- To manage the project’s finances during the construction process and to ensure that the project is completed within the budget constraints.
- To assist the Operations Department in effectively utilising and applying the Quantity Surveyor function in construction related work.
- To ensure that information flows continuously and that it is interpreted and processed correctly to achieve the goal that will meet the client’s needs.
- To perform multifunctional activities within approved policies and procedures related to acquisition and administration.
- To assist in the compilation and management of capital and maintenance budgets and financial reports.
- Good knowledge of Tender procedures
- Good knowledge of Construction technology
- Good knowledge of Tender document production

Recommendations:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Project Management.
- Microsoft Enterprise Project Management Software
- Knowledge of PPO Project Management Software
