The Site Quality Superintendent is dedicated to the project for a defined and effective duration, and is a key member of the project management team. The Quality Superintendent will have access to all members within the project team and while reporting directly to the Project Manager, will have a functional reporting line to the Program Quality Manager (where applicable), Hub Quality Lead and Global Discipline Director for quality. This reporting line will allow for the sharing of information related to the quality practice amongst all quality practitioners and offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the client requirements have been received, understood and incorporated in the applicable method statements and plans
  • Establish a framework for the quality management and continually apply it to the project
  • Follow the expected standards for quality deliverables at the completion of each Front End Loading (FEL) phase, which are indicated in the Project LifeCycle Process (PLP) Tollgate Guidelines, which include but are not limited in the following:

Input into the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and or work plan

Input into the Construction Execution Plan (CEP) for site activities

Project Quality Management Plan (PQMP) as documented in the PEP

Hatch quality management system and procedures and register

Quality staffing plan – resources and budget manhours

Project quality review and assessment program

Project Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) function performance within the defined Key Performance Areas (KPAs) to measure the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Quality performance periodic reports

Independent consultants/specialists and Authorized Inspection Authority (AIA) quality requirements where applicable

Supplier/contractor quality requirements

Establish quality requirements and change management principles and ensure quality risk mitigation process

Establish the quality record requirements from startup, handover and closeout

Establish a process for continual improvement to capture, enhance and promote a culture from client satisfaction and feedback, improvements learnt, preventative measurement and trending analysis.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Eight to ten years experience in the role of quality manager/engineer on major EPCM projects
  • Knowledge of engineering assurance from prefeasibility, execution to handover
  • Knowledge of quality management, assurance and control requirements for project, fabrication, construction, safety and environmental requirements
  • Knowledge of national and international codes, standards and specifications related to fabrication of pressurized and non pressurized plant and equipment
  • Quality control experience with respect to fabrication and construction
  • Sound management, report writing, trending and communication skills
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and auditing
  • Ability to make decisions.

Preferred

  • Managerial, analytical and computer skills
  • Governance and quality assurance experience with respect to project compliance and adherence to process, systems, procedures and policies.
