Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Officer – Languages and Social Sciences will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust quality assurance systems and controls throughout the assessment material development cycle.

The position will ensure that assessment products in Languages and Social Sciences meet established organisational, curriculum, technical and international quality standards. The role will also provide quality assurance support, monitoring, feedback and continuous improvement across the assessment development process.

Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Implementing quality assurance processes to enhance the quality and validity of assessment products in Languages and Social Sciences across all levels.
  2. Developing, reviewing and maintaining quality assurance procedures, standards, guidelines and tools.
  3. Developing work plans, schedules and quality assurance targets in line with organisational priorities.
  4. Monitoring assessment material submissions and maintaining effective tracking systems.
  5. Conducting quality assurance reviews of assessment materials against approved specifications and producing submission compliance reports.
  6. Monitoring and evaluating assessment development processes to identify gaps, risks and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  7. Providing timely, constructive and evidence-based feedback to assessment developers, Revisers and Vetters.
  8. Analysing feedback from Revisers and Vetters and recommending improvements to assessment products and processes.
  9. Training and supporting Revisers and Vetters on quality assurance standards, procedures and requirements.
  10. Communicating and disseminating assessment standards, procedures and quality requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
  11. Reviewing assessment development processes to ensure alignment with the approved curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  12. Benchmarking assessment development and quality assurance practices against national, regional and international standards and best practices.
  13. Contributing to the development and review of organisational guidelines, policies and procedures relating to assessment and quality assurance.
  14. Preparing periodic quality assurance reports and providing recommendations to management based on findings and performance trends.
  15. Performing any other duties related to quality assurance and assessment development as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

Option 1:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, with specialisation/majors in Languages and/or Social Sciences; and
  • At least five (5) years’ relevant teaching experience.

OR

Option 2:

  • A Master’s Degree in Education, with specialisation in Assessment, Quality Assurance, Education and Training or a related field; and
  • At least three (3) years’ relevant experience in assessment, quality assurance or a related field.

Added Advantage

  • Experience in assessment development and/or marking.
  • Experience in quality assurance of assessment materials.
  • Knowledge of assessment standards, curriculum alignment and assessment development processes.
  • Experience working with digital assessment or quality assurance systems will be an added advantage.
