JOB TITLE : QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

REPORTS TO : DIRECTOR-QUALITY ASSURANCE 

JOB SUMMARY:        

Under the general supervision of the Director Quality Assurance, the incumbent will implement and monitor enhancement and assurance processes in line with LP’s Policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversee internal review process and coordinate quality assurance activities across LP.
  2. Work with Heads of programmes in developing programme improvement plans.
  3. Design Programme monitoring, evaluation and reporting systems and tools.
  4. Lead the planning and implementation of all programmes` M&E activities.   
  5. Design and lead training and other capacity building initiatives on monitoring and reporting systems for Head of Departments and Programmes.
  6. Support recruitment, selections and training of staff. 
  7. Prepare periodic reports and programmes` progress reports. 
  8. Coordinate the submission of data to Quality Assurance Unit from all departments across the institution.
  9. Support Quality Assurance Director in preparing reports for external accreditation.
  10. Support evidence based decision making and facilitate the tracking of the staff evidence Based Decision Making Meetings on a monthly basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-graduate qualification in Education with focus on quality assurance in higher education plus 3 years working experience.

OR

  • Equivalent post-graduate qualification, with Monitoring & evaluation qualification plus 3 years working experience.          

OR

  • Bachelor of Education Degree with focus on quality assurance in higher education plus 5 years working experience.

OR

  • Equivalent Degree plus Monitoring & evaluation plus 5 years working experience.

OR

  • Any relevant qualification plus  5 years  working experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • A sound knowledge of higher education policies related to teaching and learning, academic planning and quality assurance
  • Extensive knowledge on Quality Assurance and Accreditation processes
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports
  • Strong training & facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up and managing M&E systems that track performance of quality improvement activities against strategic plan and programme objectives
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
