PSI seeks a Quality Assurance Advisor that will support the quality assurance and training activities for demand creation and service delivery of the VMMC programme including leading the implementation of technical activities in line with PSI and global best practices. Increasingly involved in design of technical activities and strategy of a project.

Responsibilities

Your contribution:

  • Technical: Contribute to the development and implementation of the project’s technical activities and strategy, including
  • possibly leading development and implementation of discrete workstreams. Lead development and implementation of Quality assurance frameworks and workplans in collaboration with programme management team. Support report writing and development of technical guidance.
  • Development and implementation of training curricula and training plans to build capacity of demand creation and service delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with NDOH and technical working groups to develop and adapt quality assurance and improvement plans for VMMC services, including external and internal quality assurance audits and continuous QA/QI monitoring plans.
  • Support the timely implementation of electronic databases for monitor quality of service delivery and demand creation, using the Health Network Quality Improvement System (HNQIS).
  • Support establishment or enhancement of internal quality assurance audits; train staff within the national VMMC programme to perform audits and apply findings to quality improvement efforts.
  • Participate in NDOH led efforts to refine methods and systems for quality improvements of HIV/AIDS services.
  • Lead VMMC related AE and SAE reporting and management processes and ensure timely reporting.
  • Document best practices/lessons learned in implementing VMMC Quality Improvements initiatives.
  • Maintain regular communications with NDOH and other partners to strengthen Quality Improvement processes
  • Coordinate in addressing incidents or Quality Assurance related issues across functional teams. Summarise issues/problems and drive towards solutions.
  • Periodically review Quality Assurance processes/requirements.
  • Oversee a team to continuously monitor the quality of VMMC services.
  • Programme Management: Provide inputs into development of budget by project’s programme management team.
  • Representation: Represent the Quality Assurance department project internally and externally.
  • Thought Leadership / Knowledge Management: Contribute to the development and implementation of the project’s thought leadership and knowledge management agenda, including the development and internal and external dissemination of technical and programmatic briefs, webinars, reports, and manuscripts.**Qualifications**

What are we looking for?

The basics & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, preferably in Medicine or Nursing.
  • Master’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field (e.g., MPH, MSc, MPP, MPA,) preferred.
  • Demonstrated seven (7) years of experience in the implementation of VMMC programmes or related HIV Prevention care and treatment programmes.
  • Previous experience working with VMMC service delivery and direct clinical VMMC experience required.
  • Strong documented experience applying quality assurance and quality improvement principles and skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work from home as well as from busy clinic environments.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing QA systems for HIV/AIDS interventions and familiarity with PEPFAR quality improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with HNQIS/SIMS or other Electronic Data collection apps
  • Demonstrated experience with a mix of practical technical skills in VMMC necessary for strengthening HIV service delivery at the regional, national, clinical, and community-level.
  • Strong facilitation, training, monitoring and capacity building skills.
  • Expertise in adult learning and training methodology.
  • Ability to share knowledge internally and externally with communities of practice.
  • Ability to produce technical products and tools with minimal oversight and direction.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external colleagues. Able to work as a member of a team and independently.
  • Self-starter.
  • Ability to lead development of technical approach for proposals with oversight. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence and ability to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365. Familiarity with a quantitative or qualitative data analysis programme preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in a relevant language other than English preferred.
