QA Advocate – Remote

Job Requisition: QA AdvocateIMS Global, the world leader in EdTech interoperability and impact, is looking for an experienced, independent QA Advocate to join our distributed development team. This position is 100% remote, working as part of a small, multi-functional team. You must be confident at working alone, defining your own objectives and deliverables, be a self-starter, willing to ask questions and join the dots to deliver mission-critical solutions aligned to the organization’s roadmap, business goals, and timeframe

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test protocols, requirement traceability, and test reports
  • Work closely with the development team and product team to ensure quality acceptance criteria are met
  • Ensure efficient documentation and tracking of issues to improve the quality of our web applications
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for quality assurance tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale
  • Must be able to perform under tight timeframes and execute problem-solving skills

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree is required
  • Testing certification desired
  • 3-5 years of related industry experience

Skills

  • Experience configuring and using test automation tools, including writing test cases to improve the quality, stability, and scalability of web applications
  • Experience with Cypress, Google Cloud Platform beneficial
  • Solid understanding of web services, database performance, application security, and scaling
  • Willingness to acquire knowledge on new technologies to solve quality problems.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Able to work independently, self-directed, and solutions-oriented from a remote location
  • Sound organizational and planning skills with solid attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly assess technical needs and work with teams to design, implement and deploy test solutions
  • Provide strategic direction for the team’s testing efforts
  • Collaborate with teams on key business processes
  • Uses industry understanding to drive decision-making beyond best practices.
  • Ability to quickly triage problems under pressure, determine root cause and drive resolution
  • Knowledge of IMS Interoperability Standards and specifications a definite plus
