We have an outstanding opportunity for a Publications Manager who will play a leadership role in our Communications Division.

The Publications Manager is responsible for the Secretariat’s publishing and sales strategy, is in sole charge of the Section and its budget and must maximize revenue toward the goal of a fully self-financing operation. S/he project manages a demanding year-round schedule of proposals and manuscripts, each year overseeing hundreds of outsourced contracts for editing, design, marketing and distribution.

Reporting to the Communications Director, the Publications Manager oversees operations of the Secretariat’s Printing unit, the Secretariat’s in-house artwork and printing facility. S/he supervises three staff. Overseas travel, as approved by the Communications Director, is undertaken to meet with distribution agents and attend book fairs.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. You will need to have at least 10 years’ experience in publishing, including book marketing and editing. You must have worked at a senior level, for at least 7 years, in either a commercial publishing house specialising in educational books, or in an international organisation, university press, major research institute or similar.
