INTRODUCTION

The Ministry of the Public Service invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions of Chairpersons and Members of the Public Service Tribunal. The Tribunal is a quasi-judicial entity under the Ministry of the Public Service established pursuant to Section 20 of the Public Service Act of 2005 to deal with appeals instigated by a public officer, registered public officers’ association or employer arising from grievances and disciplinary actions.

Incumbents shall be engaged on a five (5) year contract and would work on an ad hoc basis to sit on allocated cases.

JOB PURPOSE

The chairperson’s role is to make a decision between parties in a dispute, based on the papers submitted of record.Interpretes the law, assesses appeal papers presented and controls how the hearings unfold in the courtrooms.Acts as a communicator for the panel.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIECE

A Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) plus 5 years working experience in a labour relations environment.
