Background
Since 2018, the Government of Lesotho (GoL), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has been implementing the Lesotho National Dialogue and Stabilization Project (LNDSP).
A key outcome of this process was the establishment of a legal framework through the National Reforms Authority (NRA) Act, 2019, mandating the NRA to implement national reforms within 12 to 18 months.
Following the end of the NRA’s term in April 2022, the Government established the National Reforms Transitional Office (NRTO) under the Ministry of Law and Justice.
The NRTO:
- Ensures continuity, stability, and sustainability of reforms
- Serves as a repository of institutional memory
- Supports Government and Parliament in reform implementation, including peace architecture
Available Positions
Public Relations Officer
Number of Positions: 1
Primary Purpose
Ensure uniformity with the Reforms communication strategy and effective public outreach.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify public relations goals and objectives
- Liaise with senior management on PR activities
- Contribute to development of print and audio‑visual materials
- Identify communication gaps and improve messaging
- Address public gatherings, workshops, seminars, and meetings
- Support development and distribution of educational/publicity materials
- Organize press conferences and issue press releases
- Update the organisation’s website
- Maintain a strong and updated media list
Job Specification
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Public Relations
- Communications
- Media Studies
- Or related field
(Diploma/Associate Degree with extensive experience may be considered)
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
