Cape Mental Health is a non-profit organisation that offers a comprehensive mental health service in the Western Cape.
Cape Mental Health seeks to appoint a Public Relations and Communications Officer to be based in Cape Town.
Duration: A one-year contract
Responsibilities:
Managing public education and awareness campaigns
Writing of press releases & working closely with P.R. companies and media houses
Participating and co-ordinating staff participation in radio interviews, workshops and presentations
Design and development of pamphlets, posters, campaign materials
Maintaining library of public education resource materials
Co-ordinating supply of and monitoring sale/issue of public education materials
Dealing with requests for information and organising displays; manning exhibitions and organising workshops liaising with media (radio, publications) regarding campaigns and special events
Compiling internal quarterly Newsletters
Use electronic social media for outreach and awareness raising
Develop and maintain the CMH website with links to all the online communications mentioned above
Requirements:
Tertiary Qualification in PR, Marketing, Journalism or Communications
At least 5 years related experience
Excellent writing and presentation/communication skills
Advance level of computer literacy (MS Office, Publishing, Wed design & other DT skills)
Electronic media skills
Material development skills
Proficient in English & Afrikaans
Code 8 manual driver’s licence
Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 or be willing to be vaccinated
