PUBLIC CONSULTATION – ADMINISTRATIVE RULES

PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF LESOTHO COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY (ADMINISTRATIVE) RULES, NO. 77 OF 2017

Acting in accordance with subsection 4(j) of the Communications Act No. 4 of 2012, the Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA) hereby provides notice to the general public and industry stakeholders that it intends to amend Rule 3(2) of the LCA (Administrative) Rules No.77 of 2016.

The Authority proposes to amend Rule 3(2) by deleting the words “individual licences” and substituting them with the words “Unified Licences”. Through this amendment, the Authority endeavours to facilitate easy entry into communications market by allowing all categories of individual licences, with the exception of Unified Licences, to be applied for on a first come, first served basis.

The public and industry stakeholders are invited submit comments on the proposed amendment of Rule 3 (2) of the LCA (Administrative) Rules No. 77 of 2016.

The proposed draft amendment may be obtained from the LCA Offices or by downloading it from the LCA website at www.lca.org.ls
