Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho (BCMCFL), is the result of a public-private partnership between Baylor College of Medicine International Pediatric AIDS Initiative and the Government of Lesotho, and is a legal, non-profit/tax exempt organization registered in Lesotho. BCMCFL provides free pediatric and family-centred HIV and tuberculosis prevention, care, treatment and support, serving thousands of children and families affected by HIV, TB, or other child health conditions.

BCMCFL is looking for highly qualified local candidates to fill in the following positions available on a full-time, Fixed-Term, Special Contract basis.

Psychologist (x 1)   Based in Leribe and BereaPosition overview The Clinical Psychologist will work within MoH health facilities and conduct home visits for clients living with HIV who have complicated psychosocial situations. S/He will provide comprehensive Psychosocial Counselling and interventions and clinical consultation to individual patients and caregivers and in group settings as appropriate. In addition, S/He will work collaboratively with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure retention to HIV care and ART adherence. The Clinical Psychologist will report directly to Project Coordinator and will be required to extensively travel 90% within the districts.     Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  
•    Conduct  home  visits  and outreach  activities  to  re-engage people  living  with  HIV  into  outpatient  medical  care  and services

•     Work     collaboratively     with     other     members     of     the interdisciplinary team for complicated or complex cases and for quality improvement activities
•     Identify psychological, emotional and behavioral issues and assist   clients   to   cope   with   these   emotional  and   mental disorders
•     Help clients define goals and plan action to achieve personal, social,    educational    and    vocational    development    and adjustment
•     Screen    patients    for    depression    and    assist    with    the management and treatment
•     Refer eligible client to appropriate social services
•     Use innovative and strategic methods to locate patients who have fallen out of care
•     Provide individualized adherence counselling
•     Train health care personnel on delivery of comprehensive psychosocial support services
•     Provide technical support to MoH on psychosocial support in collaboration with other partners
•     Keep accurate records of Counselling activities and compile monthly activities reports
•     Perform other tasks assigned by the administration
•     Honours degree in Psychology
•     At  least  3  years  of  experience  as  Social Worker/Counsellor working with people living with HIV
•     Experience working with children/adolescents will be an added advantage
•     Extensive travel within the district
