Position: Proposal Writer
The bid proposal writer shall be responsible for crafting well-structured and persuasive written responses to requests for proposals (RFPs). They shall ensure that the proposals align with the client’s requirements and are submitted within stipulated deadlines. The incumbent shall possess the ability to work under pressure and demanding deadlines. The bid proposal writer’s ability to conduct market research to gather relevant information about the market landscape and client needs is essential for creating winning proposals.
Experience
Proven skills in writing and editing proposals. The Proposal Writer should be experienced in leading proposal planning, participating in key review meetings / tender document review, content sign-off, and document production. Excellent written English language skills are essential for this role.
Core Responsibilities
• Re-write / edit proposal responses typically involving contributions from sales and marketing.
• Ensure win themes are articulated in such a way that meets or exceeds the client’s requirements.
• Deliver completed written proposal responses to the Proposal Manager against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required.
• Lead planning sessions with team members.
• Undertake market research to meet clients’ needs.
• Assist the Bid / Proposal Manager in developing a proposal structure.
• Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant.
• Present and tag all new proposal content to the knowledge-base manager for potential re-use.
• Communicate and influence at a senior level.
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
• Forensic attention to detail and meticulous proof-reading skills
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, Advertising, journalism or any related field
• At least 2 years’ experience as a Bid Proposal writer
