Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho
The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho (BCMCFL), is the result of a public-private partnership between Baylor College of Medicine International Pediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI) and the Government of Lesotho, and is a legal, non-profit/tax exempt organization registered in Lesotho. BCMCFL provides free paediatric and family-centred HIV and tuberculosis prevention, care, treatment and support, serving thousands of children and families affected by HIV, TB, or other child health conditions.
Position: Projects Director
Duty Station: Maseru, Lesotho with travel in country
Reports to: Executive Director
Classification: Full-time, fixed term contract
Projects Director
A member of the Management team reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Projects Director will provide overall oversight and leadership for the implementation of sub-recipient donor funded projects at BCMCFL.
Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing cadres in various departments who are assigned certain tasks to achieve deliverables in the scope of work for these projects. The Projects Director will provide coaching, guidance and leadership to a team of project managers and project teams including workplan development, monitoring and reporting. S/he will work and liaise with key stakeholders including MOH, partner organizations and the donors as the key contact person for the projects.
Key Performance Areas
- Reviews contracts, cooperative agreements and ensure all team members understand the requirements and conditions
- Creates and maintains schedules for projects implementation and reporting
- Reviews regular progress reports and works with Compliance, M&E, HRM and Finance to make staffing, financial and other adjustments to align projects performance with project goals.
- Participates in monthly and quarterly meetings ( external and internal)
- Conducts capacity building workshops/exercises for project managers
- Participates in writing and submission of all project proposals and actively investigate and recommend new and ongoing funding opportunities in alignment with BCMCFL mission and vision
- Perform other duties as may be required from time to time
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in project or operations management; a post graduate qualification will be an added advantage
Must have minimum 5 years project implementation experience. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with PEPFAR and/or The Global Fund programming in Lesotho
Familiarity with Lesotho’s institutional, policy and programming context for HIV and TB
