PROJECT TECHNICIAN (PATERSON BAND DL)
Letšeng seeks to engage a qualified Mosotho professional with appropriate skills and aptitude to fill the position of Project Technician (Paterson Band DL).
PURPOSE: Letšeng Diamond Mine is currently building a new Ore Crushing facility. The Project Technician will be dedicated to the oversight of the implementation of the project on-site.
MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Report directly to the Project Manager for the duration of the project
• Assist with day to day site management for the duration of the project
• Perform rudimentary quality control of the installation and do regular site installation inspections
• Prepare site feedback reports to be included in the Project Manager’s monthly report to the PMO and SteerCom
• Maintain a project photo media progress indicating issues and progress
• Liaising with the contractor’s site managers
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• A minimum of a BTech degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Civil in order of preference)
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience would be preferable
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• An understanding of project deliverables with regards to managing contractors
• An understanding of schedule and time management
• Competence in monitoring construction and quality of construction
• An engineering knowledge pertaining to civil works, mechanical and electrical installations and the commissioning thereof. Microsoft Office software with specific reference to Word and Excel
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Candidates will be required to undergo the medical examination of fitness as per the requirements

• The position is a 14-month fixed-term contract based on-site
