Applicants must be highly motivated, independent thinkers with an ability to work on a wide variety of topics and work processes at the same time. Candidates must be able to work under pressure, identify new opportunities and drive innovation. The successful candidate will report to the TTIC Programme Head.
Overview of duties
· Manage and implement multiple projects, including day-to-day oversight of project activities in line with workplans as well as overall project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting
· Financial and budget planning and controls
· Identify new fundraising opportunities, write concept notes, funding proposals and budgets in support of the Programme Head
· Develop annual work plans for staff in line with the overall Programme work plan, donor agreements and the ISS Results Based Framework
· Monitor the execution of project deliverables and staff performance
- Implement effective monitoring and evaluation plans for projects and ensure that relevant monitoring data is collected throughout the project cycle, including objective means to demonstrate results
· Quality control of all programme work
· Ensure effective communication of results to target audiences in accordance with the planned communication strategies
Requirements
§ Master’s degree in a relevant social science discipline; a diploma in Project Management will be desirable
§ At least five years relevant work experience in a policy, research, government, training or other relevant professional environment
§ Exceptional skills in planning and organising events and the ability to work on several complex processes simultaneously
§ Excellent financial project management and human resource management skills
§ Superior project management and coordination skills
§ Good knowledge of NGO grant management and donor relations
§ Knowledge and understanding of results-based management and reporting
§ A strong team leader with excellent interpersonal skills
§ Understanding of the thematic areas of the projects, and an ability to work in cooperation with governments and civil society
§ Excellent English skills, both written and verbal; French will be an advantage
§ Ability to work under pressure and to deadline
The contract will be for two years, and may be renewed subject to programme requirements, funding and satisfactory performance. A competitive salary is offered.
