Project Manager – Strategy, Finance & Communications

Reporting to the Head of Strategy, Finance and Communications this individual will be responsible for supporting the effective and efficient management and delivery of the key activities with this functional area through planning, budgeting, reporting, and day-to-day operations consistent with the agreed Funda Wande process and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project management
    Manage and coordinate day-to-day planning and implementation of function activities according to the planned deliverables for the year C Ensure systems and processes are in place for effective programme delivery
    Plan, schedule, and cost activities
    Monitor, track and review the implementation, issues, outputs, and performance against function activities
    Monitor, track and review the implementation, outputs, and performance against programme plans
    Provide regular reporting to the Head of Strategy, Finance and Communications as per agreed guidelines including
    preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and communications reports
  2. Administration
    Finance administration for all function activities and deliverables
    Plan all logistics requirements for activities and programme implementation
    Implementation and adherence of internal controls – HR, Finance, Procurement, Travel, IT
    Assist with monitoring and tracking of strategic opportunities
    Risk management
    Communication and Reports
    Coordinate stakeholder and funder reporting and communication as it relates to the functional area Strategy, Finance and Communications
    Monitor, track, and report on overall communications portfolio including social media, YouTube and other communication platforms
    Knowledge and Experience:
    A high level of understanding of project cycle management
    Considerable experience in budgeting/financial procedures
    Proven ability to provide technical support and guidance to a diverse team
    Good knowledge and understanding of key aspects of development work within education
    Experience monitoring processes and systems in new and rapidly growing organizations.
    Highly computer literate, ideally familiar with Microsoft Office, Excel, Smartsheet, Slack, Dropbox or equivalents
    Qualifications/Other Requirements:
    Relevant degree and/or diploma in Project Management, Finance, Operations, Communications, or a related field
    Minimum 5 years’ experience at a similar level coordinating similar projects within philanthropy, education, or development sector
