We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager – Education Learning for Life to join our Economic Youth and Sustainable Development Directorate.

This temporary role has been created to enable the Secretariat deliver on its commitment to SDG4 and the Learning for Life project of SPD/EYSD; as well as advance crosscutting approaches to deliver results and achieve learning and social policy priorities in the Strategic Plan. Project Officer (Education- Learning for Life) provides professional, technical, research, operational and administrative assistance to the Social Policy Development Section. They will be responsible for supporting the programming process for the Secretariat’s education programmes/projects including performing tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, progress monitoring and evaluation and reporting.

Project Officer (Education- Learning for Life) will be required to develop effective working relationships with Member Countries and other key stakeholders specifically to support the delivery of the Secretariat’s social development programme.

The post holder will be responsible for (not limited to) the following:

  • Technical and administrative support throughout all stages of programming processes by executing and administering a variety of technical programme transactions, preparing materials and documentations, and complying with organizational processes and management systems
  • Liaison with partners and key stakeholders including policymakers, experts from research institutes and higher education institutions.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to the Education team in respect
  • Financial management – managing project budget and ensuring all expenses are according to budget.

Person Specification

Education:

To be considered, Post graduate degree in Education, Social Policy Development studies, Business Administration, Economics or related social science discipline. At least 3 years of relevant work experience in/with international development organisations, particularly in the areas of education, policy development or social development.  Experience within a government agency in a developing country or a development organisation with responsibility for policy development in the education sector, project development, design and management. Certification in Project Management such as Prince 2.
