Project Manager at Caritas Lesotho

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Project Manager for the IDCS Project at Caritas Lesotho. The contract for the position is initially for a period of twelve months with possibility of extension depending on satisfactory performance.

Specific duties

  • Develops a detailed project document in line with the Caritas Lesotho Project Management Framework
  • Leads the implementation of project activities.
  • Undertakes institutional capacity assessments.
  • Develops capacity improvement plans to address the identified capacity gaps.
  • Monitors progress in the implementation of project activities in line with the defined scope and recommend changes where necessary.
  • Tracks efficiency in the implementation of project activities and inform relevant stakeholders of the changes in the DIP, reasons, and implications thereof.
  • Tracks the project budget to ensure that the project activities are implemented within budget and recommend modifications where necessary.
  • Provides an overall assessment of quality in the implementation of the project.
  • Acts as a project liaison between Caritas Lesotho and CRS

Academic and personal credentials

  • Bachelors/Postgraduate degree in Project/Business Management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Ability to work both as a leader and a motivating member of a team.
  • Strong team building and human relations skills.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.
  • Experience working as a project manager will be an added advantage.
  • Results orientated and able to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision, under extreme pressure and tight timeframes.
  • Good knowledge of the Catholic Church Structures and ethos
