The U.S. Embassy in Lesotho is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Project Management Specialist (Foreign Assistance Coordinator).
Basic Function of the Position
The Project Management Specialist (Foreign Assistance Coordinator) is an expert in health and foreign assistance and serves as a resource in strategic planning, programme and activity design, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the U.S. Department of State Foreign Assistance programmes and component projects, particularly the U.S.-Lesotho Health Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the response to HIV/AIDS.
The successful candidate will administer and manage U.S. Department of State foreign assistance programmes through various assistance mechanisms to ensure that U.S. Government project objectives are achieved in accordance with financial, regulatory and time requirements, while supporting the America First Global Health Strategy.
The position also serves as a designated or alternate representative of the U.S. Government for the oversight and management of implementing mechanisms and activities, including Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), Grants Officer’s Representative (GOR), Agreement Officer’s Representative (AOR), Alternate COR/GOR/AOR and Activity Manager responsibilities.
Based in the Political and Economic Section of the U.S. Embassy Maseru, the incumbent will report to the Political and Economic Section Head and Deputy Chief of Mission through the Foreign Assistance Officer Lead. The role also includes supervising a team of locally employed staff and engaging with senior government and civil society stakeholders.
