ABOUT YOU

You thrive in creating impact in high-value complex environments. You have a clinical degree/advanced degree in public health, health management, health policy, or financing and are an experienced director eager for a new opportunity to transform social outcomes in Lesotho.

Qualifications and Experience for a Project Director:

  • A clinical degree or advanced degree (Masters or above) in public health or health management, health policy or financing, or other relevant fields.
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated professional experience in international health programming, senior-level management, and experience leading large projects.
  • At least 8 years of demonstrated expertise in influencing governments, donors, and/or other implementers.
  • At least 4 years of experience with sub-Saharan Africa health programs, in-person or remote.
  • Familiarity with the health system in Lesotho.
  • At least 4 years of demonstrated professional experience with health system strengthening in countries with populations <5 million.
  • Understanding or experience working on Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) funded projects.
  • Strong verbal and written English language skills.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AND HOW YOU WILL GROW

Dalberg is seeking a Project Director for a potential 5-year MCC contract aimed to support the Ministry of Health to further strengthen its health system through enhanced Primary Health Care service delivery while building an additional capacity of the district health management teams and bolstering efforts to counter gender-based violence.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the contract implementation to achieve or contribute to the project outputs and mid-term outcomes as stated in the project logic.
  • Provide oversight and advice on all aspects of program performance.
  • Provide leadership across the base period and five option years, guiding the supporting program planning and development and ensuring the availability of resources.
  • Serve as a primary means of collaboration with the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) and will liaise with project staff for the other Health System Strengthening (HSS) Project contractors.
  • Aid in the production of quarterly and annual work plans and payment schedules while guaranteeing the timely submission and quality of all reports, materials, publications, and other deliverables or products.
  • Mentor and support project staff and supervise consultants.
