Contract in Maseru, LS – Senior
DG seeks qualified Project Director candidates to serve as the team leader for the HDII opportunity and will be the primary point of contact for the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) with DG. The Project Director will be responsible for overseeing the work of the team to ensure both the quality of services provided and the achievement of the required milestones. They should be a known expert in higher education training; data analytics; and/or data science. They should be based in Lesotho or willing to relocate. We are willing to consider candidates based in South Africa.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree or higher in data science, data analytics, data management, health informatics or other relevant subject; or a bachelor’s degree and more than 10 years of specific data analysis experience and training.
- At least five (5) years of experience implementing training programs, innovation programs, and/or other relevant experience related to data analysis and data use.
- Demonstrated success in working with and analyzing data as evidenced by publications or presentations.
- Proven experience leading teams and projects of over $10,000/year in value.
- Proven experience representing organizations and/or programs externally to partners, donors, and government partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A strong network in Lesotho to facilitate collaboration and fellowship placements.
- Direct experience working with the health system in Lesotho or Southern Africa region.
- Knowledge of the Lesotho ICT and data landscape.
- Knowledge of principles and practices for anonymization of data sets.
- Experience working with government and other stakeholders to publicize national and subnational data sets.
- Experience working with hybrid remote and virtual teams, including multi-organizational consortia.
