Job Description
The Project Coordinator will lead the implementation of strategic project activities under the clinical initiative, ensuring alignment with the technical and operational objectives of the Lesotho Country Program. Reporting to the Technical Project Director, the Coordinator will manage district-level execution across Mohale’s Hoek, Mafeteng, Maseru, and Thaba-Tseka, supporting PMTCT and PrEP service delivery.
This role ensures high-impact service delivery to Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women (PBFW) and their families, working closely with professional nurses, mentor mothers, and M&E officers to enhance data quality, strengthen service integration, and drive continuous quality improvement.
Key Performance Areas
Program Coordination
• Develop and implement programme plans in collaboration with m2m colleagues
• Manage relationships with health facilities, civil society organisations, and community structures
• Establish referral networks and client linkages
• Coordinate awareness campaigns and service uptake initiatives
• Lead PMTCT mentorship and participate in stakeholder forums
• Conduct quarterly feedback sessions and promote replication of best practices
Administration, Financial & HR Management
• Participate in recruitment, training, and orientation of project staff
• Develop and monitor monthly project budgets
• Conduct performance appraisals and manage contracting processes for nurses
• Report performance issues and collaborate with HR on disciplinary actions
• Provide supportive supervision and ensure staff receive necessary tools and training
Monitoring & Evaluation
• Ensure timely submission of attendance registers, timesheets, and reports
• Conduct data verification and ensure quality service delivery
• Compile and submit monthly statistics and HR documentation
• Lead quarterly data reviews and manage data collection tools
Qualifications & Experience
• Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health, Nursing Sciences, or Social Sciences
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in community health work and programme management
• Experience with the Peer Model and public health programmes (preferred)
• Knowledge of QA/QI protocols and health policies
• Basic understanding of HR and financial management
• Experience in budget development and staff leadership

• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and exercise sound judgment
• Excellent time management, reporting, and writing skills
• Fluency in English and Sesotho
• Computer literacy (MS Office, Teams, Zoom)
