Christian Health Association of Lesotho (CHAL) is a network of churches’ owned health facilities including 8 hospitals, 71 Health Centres and 4 Nursing Training Institutions throughout the country. It is constitutionally mandated to facilitate participation of Christian churches in ensuring that the right to health for all is upheld to the highest quality. The Association collaborates with various partners in delivering health care services to fulfil its mandate and as such, implements various donor funded projects to promote good health for all Basotho. CHAL therefore, has been awarded a grant by Ecumenical Pharmaceutical Network (EPN) to improve access to quality effective pharmaceutical services in church health facilities.  CHAL therefore invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the Position of PROJECT COORDINATOR:

POSITION

Position: Project Coordinator

Duration of the Project: 30 months

  • Complies with national, regional and international laws and to develop and maintain an agreed project plan
  • Tailor expert knowledge to meet project objectives and targets
  • Supervises and ensure that pharmacy personnel effectively play their part in the provision of pharmaceutical services
  • Guard against any form of malpractice or non compliance to prescribed standard operating procedure
  • Understand and apply business case and risk management processes (identification, prevention, mitigation, planning and management)
  • Plan and manage deployment of physical and financial resources to meet project milestones
  • Build and sustain effective communication with stakeholders involved in the project
  • Promote and advocate for rational use of drugs
  • Educate on proper handling of drugs (storage, usage, distribution and disposal)
  • Provide advice on medicine selection
  • Collaborates, build and sustain and effective communication with stakeholders  
  • Provide specialized education programs and health promotions in order to assist in better management of patients
  • Ensuring and applying quality management and processes and to ensure adherence to standard treatment guidelines

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • B. A Degree in any Health related field and should be registered with relevant local regulatory authorities 
  • 2 years experience in a Health Related Field with Project Management component.

  • Proven management experience in supervision of staff in cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact effectively with others, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
