Background:
The Ministry of Health (MOH) will be engaging into the Southern Africa Regulatory for Clinical Research (SEARCH) Project to increase the regulatory capacity for clinical trials review and monitoring in Southern Africa. The project will establish and use harmonized regulatory
procedures and integrate improved technology platform to enable a robust system for processing and monitoring the clinical trials and ensure the safety of patients involved. The project life-cycle will be 36 months, starting on 1 January 2021. The MOH therefore invites suitable qualified candidates for Part-time engagement to the position of Project Coordinator until December 2023.

Tasks and Responsibilities
A. Project implementation and coordination
• Oversee, manage and coordinate the SEARCH project.
• Collaborate with the Director Pharmaceuticals who will be working as the Project Manager (PM) and Medicine Regulation team.
• Ensure the project is implemented according to the approved protocol (s).
• Lead coordination and organization of all SEARCH project activities in close consultation with PM and Medicine Regulation team.
• Responsible for gradual implementation of the new tools and ensure accuracy of the key deliverables.
• Lead drafting of project implementation plans (in close collaboration with Project Manager).
• Ensure smooth communication between all parties involved
• Participate in implementation of country project activities in close collaboration with the

B. Project planning and Monitoring
• Participate in the development and review of Yearly Plans of Operations, work plans and schedules including budgeting.
• Support the Project Manager – Medicine Regulatory staf, review and evaluate project goals including project indicators;

C. Study Financial Management
• Lead financial management of the study according to the EDCTP approved budgets. This includes timely request for any planned study related activities.
• Ensure proper documentation, safe keeping and timely submission of all project receipts and records.
• Regular/monthly financial accountability in close collaboration with PM and SolidarMed Accountant. This includes insertion of budget lines into receipts.
• Participate in the financial reporting to the SEARCH Project coordinator.

D. Stakeholder Management, communication and reporting
• Lead the communication between Local PM, other partners and SEARCH project coordinator;
• Lead the drafting of project related reports, participate in all documents writing.

F. REPORTING AND SUPERVISION
The Project coordinator shall be responsible to the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Health through the Director Pharmaceuticals

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE OF THE CONSULTANT
• The incumbent must possess a minimum of Health Or Social Science Degree qualifcation and Project Management qualifcation will be
an added advantage and must have no less than seven years proven experience;
• Have experience in working as the lead project coordinator in Health related projects and Possess capacity to lead the projects
• Fluency in English required, including excellent reporting, writing and communication skills; Added advantages:
• Work experience in Lesotho and knowledge of Lesotho Health Care System.
