KARABO EA BOPHELO at Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho

The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho (BCMCFL), is the result of a public-private partnership between Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI) and the Government of Lesotho, and is a legal, non-profit/tax exempt organization registered in Lesotho. BCMCFL provides free paediatric and family-centred HIV and tuberculosis prevention, care, treatment and support, serving thousands of children and families affected by HIV, TB, or other child health conditions. Karabo ea Bophelo (KB) is a five-year USAID-funded activity to prevent new HIV infections and reduce vulnerability among orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Lesotho. All positions are based in Maseru, Lesotho on full-time, fixed term contracts.

  1. PROJECT ASSISTANT

Job Summary:

Responsible for provision of Secretarial Services to Karabo ea Bophelo; Coordination of activities in Chief of Party’s office (meetings, travel arrangements and maintenance of diaries) and hospitality in the Chief of Party’s office.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Ensure that all correspondence to be signed by the Chief of Party is in an acceptable project format;
  • Ensure that outgoing correspondence from the office of the Chief Party’s office and the entire project reaches its destination;
  • Maintains flow of information in and out of the Chief of Party’s office;
  • Distribute mail from Chief of Party’s office to relevant officers and stakeholders for action;
  • Respond to customer inquiries to the Chief of Party’s office;
  • Receives and screens telephone calls to the office of Chief of Party.

Qualifications, Experience & Required Skills:

  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies or Office Administration from a recognized Institution;
  • 3 years’ experience in a related field;
  • Computer skills and ability to operate Microsoft programmes: Word, Outlook, Access and Excel;
  • Strong Interpersonal skills, team player, analytical and problem solver;
  • Effective verbal, listening and written communication, fluent in spoken and written English and Sesotho; Time management skills.
