Job Opportunity: Project Accountant (Maseru, Lesotho)
Sky Business Inc, an Enterprise Support Organisation based in Maseru, Lesotho, is seeking a dynamic and self-driven Project Accountant to join its team. The ideal candidate will support the organisation in managing accounting, budgeting, compliance, payments, and reporting functions for assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting-related functions for assigned projects.
- Prepare and manage project budgets.
- Process vendor and subcontractor invoices accurately and on time.
- Track project budget commitments and compliance documents.
- Generate management and financial reports, including Management Accounts, Payroll, A/R, Contract Status, and Job Cost.
- Modify and update cost reports as necessary.
- Collect, analyse, and maintain project financial data.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Ensure compliance with accounting and donor requirements for assigned projects.
- Produce and analyse project financial reports.
- Maintain timely and accurate financial records.
- Manage invoices, payments, and project-related documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an accountant or grant administrator.
- Prior experience with donor-funded projects is preferred.
- Experience in an Audit Firm will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor payments.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
- Membership with a recognised accounting body is preferred.
- High degree of initiative, reliability, and attention to detail.
Technological Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Pastel Accounting, or similar.
