Project Accountant
REPORTING TO: Project Finance Manager
PURPOSE:
The Project Accountant’s primary responsibility is to support the project team regarding contract modifications, compliance, payments, reports and any other duties related to the project. Accountant is expected to occasionally travel to project sites for job status review meetings.
Main Duties / Key Responsibilities
· Process vendor invoices in ERP accurately and within assigned timeline.
· Work together with project administrator to collect and track compliance documents.
· Maintain general ledger by preparing journal entries, reconciling financial statements and accounts to ensure data accuracy.
· Generate reports including contract status, material procurement status and cash flow status
· Issue invoices and purchase orders, as well as paying consultants, subcontractors, and supplier bills.
· Prepare project interim claim statements.
· Prepare value added tax reports and other tax declarations.
· Maintain audit file to address external auditor’s requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or similar business degree.
Special Skills / Personality:
· In-depth knowledge of best practices in accounting.
· Ability to produce graphs and tables, use spreadsheets efficiently, and perform calculations and automation to process large volumes of data.
· Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Competency to prioritize multiple tasks.
