Agrivision Lesotho is a registered non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable development through agriculture, youth and women empowerment, climate resilience, livelihood opportunities, and community development in Lesotho.
The organisation is seeking a qualified, committed, and results-oriented individual to join the team as a Project Accountant. The successful candidate will support the organisation’s financial management functions and contribute to the effective implementation of projects.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess:
- Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification, Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Accounting, or equivalent qualifications
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budget management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and accounting software
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills
Added Advantage
- Experience working with donor-funded projects and familiarity with donor financial reporting requirements
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Project Accountant will be responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for project activities
- Processing payments, receipts, journals, and other accounting transactions
- Monitoring project budgets and expenditure to ensure compliance with approved budgets
- Assisting in the preparation and submission of donor financial reports
- Conducting bank reconciliations and monitoring cash flow
- Maintaining asset registers and inventory records
- Ensuring compliance with organisational financial policies and procedures
- Supporting internal and external audits by providing relevant financial documentation
- Assisting with procurement and financial verification processes
- Filing and safeguarding accounting records and supporting documentation
- Performing any other finance and accounting duties assigned by management
