JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Chief Executive, the Programmes Director will be responsible for the efficient and effective management and administration of all programmes activities of LPPA. The Programmes Director will also provide technical leadership for the development, implementation and reporting of effective and comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Programmes.
MAIN DUTIES
- Provides operational management, direction and leadership to the Programmes Department, demonstrating clear corporate direction and vision and providing the highest technical support to staff and statutory committees.
- Advises the CE and Senior Management Team (SMT) on all program matters pertaining to statutory requirements and policy framework of IPPF and other donors.
- Establishes and develops close communication links with IPPF Africa Region Programme Advisors.
- Coordinates preparation, development and review of the Strategic and Annual Business Plans.
- Provides leadership and technical guidance to ensure effective development, coordination and implementation of LPPA programmes in line with the Association’s approved Business Plan.
- Ensures provision of a broad range of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights information and services to clients in line with National and IPPF Quality of Care standards (QoC) and protocols.
- Conducts research, plans, coordinates, develops and implements programs activities that are aligned to LPPA Strategic Plan, Business Plan and Donor requirements.
- Monitors progress of on-going projects to ensure adherence to Policies, Donor and Statutory requirements.
- Prepares and submits timely information and reports as may be requested by Management, LPPA Volunteers, IPPF and Donors.
- Initiates and plans strategies for the development and timely submission of project proposals to existing and potential Donors.
- Identifies and initiates networking, collaboration and partnerships with the public sector, private sector and other CSOs for effective service delivery and advocacy for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.
- Effects and maintains smooth relations between LPPA and its Donors and other Partners.
- Oversees development and implementation of LPPA’s communication strategies and policies in line with its vision, mission and objectives.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- MA Degree in Social or Health Sciences or any related field
- A minimum of three (3) years working experience in a similar role at a managerial level
- OR
- BA Degree in Social or Health Sciences or any related field
- A minimum of 4 years working experience in a similar role at a managerial level
