EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE ▪ A minimum of Master’s Degree in Higher Education and related fields and 2 years working experience in higher education institutions OTHER NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE AND/OR EXPERTISE · Knowledge of higher education studies, basic skills in Learning management systems and various technological platforms used in teaching and learning in higher education; · Have experience in instructional design and/ development; · Teaching experience in an institution of higher learning; · A proven track record of research in a relevant field; · Experience in working with and providing support to higher education teachers and students in institutions of higher learning will be an added advantage
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The purpose of the job is to coordinate the Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education programme and other programmes that are developed from time to time at the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL)
JOB SUMMARY
· To plan and coordinate the Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education Programme and its activities;
· To coordinate other programmes developed by CTL
· Manage communication through the Learning Management System (LMS);
· To organize and provide training programmes for programme facilitators;
· To organize and provide training programmes for the facilitators
· To Manage Programmes Administrative Activities.
MAIN DUTIES
1. Planning and coordination of the Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education Programme and its activities;
2. Teaching a course in the PGD in Higher Education;
3. Undertaking administrative and management tasks for various programmes;
4. Facilitating effective management of programmes according to organizational standards;
5. Managing communication between the students and the Centre;
6. Managing communication between students and the Programmes Facilitators;
7. Ensuring the use of Learning Management System for teaching and learning programmes;
8. Managing collaboration amongst the various Programmes Facilitators;
9. Ensuring collaboration with institutions offering similar programmes;
10. keeping documentation/reports of the programmes activities;
11. Ensuring good and effective use of technology for delivery of programmes;
12. Managing capacity building for programmes facilitators;
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs)
· Developed systems and tools for programmes delivery;
· Developed individual work plan;
· Developed programmes delivery reports and training reports;
· Developed programme delivery schedules;
· Developed needs analysis template;
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
· Availability of policies, guidelines, procedures and tools;
· Availability of individual work plan;
· Availability of reports;
· Availability of training programmes;
· Availability of follow–up schedules;
CONTRACT TERMS
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for Locals, and Two Years’ Contract for Non-Locals with a possibility of renewal.
