Programmes and Information Officer (internship)

An exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, organized and analytical thinker with strong interpersonal skills to build experience through a hands-on, part-time internship with the leading child-care reform organisation, Hope and Homes for Children. We’re striving to give children a safe, family home and to end the travesty of institutionalised care.

As the Programmes and Information Officer, you will help us strengthen monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning systems to track progress, measure impact, and promote continuous improvement. You will both contribute to data analysis and the preparation of programme reporting as well as have the opportunity to grow your wider international programmes skill and experience base across the internship.

The role will suit those with a positive and resilient character, inspired by the desire to make a difference and ready to learn and grow. You will have good information management and analytical skills, excellent reporting writing skills, strong communication abilities, a supportive and collaborative approach and a genuine passion for our work.

In return, we’ll provide you with the chance to have a real impact in a collaborative and ambitious organisation who are proud of what we do and the difference we make, and we will provide the opportunities and guidance to help you to develop and grow. You will develop communications, information management, programmes reporting, programmes monitoring and evaluation skills as well as experience in international development, children’s rights, disability rights, inclusion and care reform.

If you believe every child belongs in a family, then join us as we consign orphanages to history.

About Hope and Homes for Children:
Orphanages don’t protect children, they harm them. Put simply: the last thing an orphanage can provide is the first thing a child needs – someone to love them. Science shows what we all know, that the bond between a child and their family is vital for their development. Decades of evidence proves that orphanages harm children, subjecting them to high levels of sexual and physical abuse, as well as extreme neglect. Children always belong in families. They need protection, encouragement, play, laughter and love. They need somewhere to call home and someone to love them. You can help us make this a reality for children.
