The AUDA-NEPAD Agency hereby invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the following position: Programme Officer, Medical Devices Regulation.

Under the supervision of the Principal Programme Officer Policy Specialist, the Programme Officer – Medical Devices Regulation will be responsible for leading the development of continental standards, guidelines, and processes for regulating medical devices and supporting Member States and RECs to implement them. Specifically, he/she will assist with the coordination of the medical devices work stream and the African Medical Devices Forum (AMDF) Technical Committee under the African Medicines Regulatory Harmonization (AMRH) Initiative.

Required Skills and Competencies

  1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts and approaches relevant to medicines regulation and harmonization initiatives, project management, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation.
  2. Advanced knowledge of medical devices regulatory processes, standards, and practices.

Education and Experience:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, medicine, biomedical engineering, medical laboratory sciences, biochemistry, or related field with one (1) year of professional experience in the regulation of medical devices including in vitro diagnostics working experience in medical product regulatory field, research and development or health innovation projects within the public sector, multinational or multilateral institutions or similar organizations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.

•     Project management experience is an added advantage

​​​​​​​Remuneration: Indicative basic salary of US$28,976.97 per annum plus other entitlements e.g., Post Adjustment (57% of basic salary), Housing allowance ($21,832.68 per annum), gratuity (15% of gross salary) in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to internationally recruited staff of the African Union.
