About AUDA-NEPAD
The New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) was adopted in 2001 in Lusaka, Zambia, with the primary goals of poverty alleviation, economic growth, and sustainable development in Africa. In February 2010, the NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency (NPCA) was established as the technical body of the African Union to replace the NEPAD Secretariat.
In July 2018, during the 31st Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly in Nouakchott, Mauritania, the AUDA-NEPAD (African Union Development Agency) was formed as part of AU institutional reforms. This transformation aims to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and ownership of Africa’s development initiatives.
AUDA-NEPAD’s Mandate
- Coordinate and implement priority regional and continental projects aligned with Agenda 2063.
- Strengthen the capacity of AU Member States and regional bodies.
- Provide knowledge-based advisory support for development initiatives.
- Mobilize resources to fund African development programs.
- Act as a technical interface between Africa’s development stakeholders and partners.

Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Programme Coordinator, the Programme Officer – Advocacy, Reporting, Monitoring & Evaluation will be responsible for:
- Providing thematic and technical support to the Programme Coordinator.
- Enhancing programme visibility, impact, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Supporting communication and outreach strategies to disseminate critical programme information.
Specific Duties
- Conduct background research and consolidate reports, minutes, and working papers.
- Draft and review reports, project documents, and ensure procedural accuracy.
- Support the coordination of programme meetings, including steering committees and technical groups.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication and advocacy plan.
- Manage the production and dissemination of project-related materials (e.g., reports, brochures, press releases).
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including implementing partners and government institutions.
- Organize and coordinate workshops, conferences, and networking events.
- Monitor media coverage and prepare briefs to enhance programme visibility.
- Conduct stakeholder mapping and develop engagement strategies.
- Ensure communication and advocacy efforts align with programme objectives.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Communication, Advocacy, Public Relations, Marketing, Development, Finance, Information Science, Journalism, or other relevant fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive professional experience in Public Health, Institutional Development, or Social Development, with at least 3 years in public sector institutions or similar organizations at national, regional, or continental levels.
Language Requirement
- Proficiency in one AU working language: English, French, Portuguese, or Arabic (required).
- Knowledge of additional AU working languages is an added advantage.
Tenure & Employment Terms
- Contract Type: AU Fixed-Term
- Duration: 2 years (first 6 months considered probationary).
- Renewal: Subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Remuneration
- Indicative basic salary: US$28,976.97 per annum
- Post Adjustment: 57% of basic salary
- Housing Allowance: US$21,832.88 per annum
- Gratuity: 15% of gross salary
