ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

These jobs are found in Regional Bureaux (RBs), Country Offices (COs), Area/Field Offices (AOs/FOs). Job holders typically report to a Programme Policy Officer or Head of Field Office.
At this level, job holders are expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to various queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen operational problems on a daily basis. Job holders are expected to manage resources and coach and coordinate support staff.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: University degree in Agriculture, Social Sciences, Economics, Development Economics, Public Administration, or another related field.

JOB PURPOSE

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the direct supervision of the Purchase for Progress (P4P) Coordinator and the general supervision of the Deputy Country Director, the incumbent shall perform the following duties:

 

  • Support M&E unit in organizing farmer organizations, smallholder farmer and traders annual monitoring surveys, i.e. adaptation of data collection instruments, sampling, selection and training of enumerators, data collection, data entry, and support the data cleaning and analysis, report writing and dissemination of the report;
  • Support the M&E unit in maintaining relevant records of farmer organizations related to education and trainings to farmer organizations, supply side partners, stakeholders as well as WFP staff;
  • Identify market relevant indicators for project outcomes/output; and design, prepare, monitor, update and track statistics related to them, inform the relevant sections in the CO;
  • Maintain records of market related information by extracting relevant information from statistics, reports, meeting minutes and other documentation; make information available for local Purchase briefs, and other related purposes;
  • Annual consolidation of lessons learnt, and best practices based on the data produced by M&E system and feed these into quarterly reports, and stakeholder meetings;
  • Identify and establish partnerships at country level to support local purchase implementation;
  • Support the management of established partnerships through regular contact with partners, review of both narrative and financial reports, processing of financial information in WINGs (and budget management;
  • Organize missions, meetings and briefing sessions to identify and analyze problems and recommend project interventions;
  • Assessment of new farmer organizations and capacity assessment of both new and old farmer organizations and recommending on training packages to be provided to the organizations;
  • Participate in resource mobilization as necessary; this include drafting proposals, and participating in negotiations with potential donors; and
  • Perform other related duties as required.
