STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Nutrition or other related field. 

Experience: At least five years of progressively responsible experience in programme related functions, 2 of which relates to  School Feeding, Nutrition and/or monitoring & evaluation of such.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Sesotho and English.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

Job holder reports to Senior Programme Policy Officer – Social Protection.
At this level, job holder is expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to various queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen operational problems on a daily basis. 

JOB PURPOSE

To provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs, especially school feeding.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Assist the Programme Officer in the management and coordination of the School Feeding related activities at the Country Office level;

  1. Support the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the school feeding activities in collaboration with  other units;
  2. Ensure that school feeding activities are implemented as planned  through collaborative efforts with MoET and other line ministries, WFP Field offices, WFP support units, etc.;
  3. Assist in the implementation and coordination of capacity development framework related to school feeding programme for Government and partners/ institutions.
  4. Monitor, update and track data related to project issues, commodity pipelines and financial allotment status reports, informing the relevant divisions accordingly; ensure accuracy of data related to the above;
  5. Maintain records on project activities, budget records and other documentation; make information available for country briefs, country profiles, and other related purposes; ensure project cycle deadlines are met;
  6. Prepare status and progress reports; providing information and background material for use in discussions and briefing sessions;
  1. Prepare, review and reconcile a variety of operational reports; analyze and process requests for a variety of relevant data; draft correspondence related to the field of work;
  2. Perform any other duties as required.
