We have an outstanding opportunity for a Programme Assistant in our Trade, Oceans and Natural Resources Directorate.

The Programme Assistant is responsible for providing administrative services to support the Head of Oceans and Natural Resources (ONR), Operations Officer and ONR team. S/he provides administrative and secretarial assistance to ensure the smooth running of ONR’s office, activities and projects. This includes tasks related to project delivery, reports, filing systems, financial transactions, correspondence, document management.

Other responsibilities entailed in this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Assists the Head of ONR, Operations Officer and project leads/managers in the efficient and effective delivery of their activities; duty travel assistance;
  • Provides administrative support to Head of ONR and project leads/managers in the planning, execution and implementation of the Division’s programmes;                
  • Provides administrative support for the organisation of conferences and workshops including liaising with delegate regarding flights, booking flights and hotels, booking conference facilities and processing invoices. 
  • Assists with preparation of contracts for consultants and procurement;

To be considered you must have a minimum requirement of Secondary qualifications to A-Level or equivalent, at least three (3) years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with an international element, proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office 2016 (including Word, Excel and Powerpoint), ability to manage financial transaction processing. Good communication skills are essential. The role is based in central London but may require the ability to work from home initially and as need arises.
