Position: Program Officer – THUSO Project (Marang Fund)
Location: Maseru, Lesotho (with travel to Berea and Leribe)
Contract Type: Full-time, 24 months
About the Project
The THUSO Project, supported by the Marang Fund, aims to promote the dignity, safety, and inclusion of LGBTQI+ persons in Lesotho. It addresses structural discrimination in financial services, public infrastructure, prisons, and gender-based violence (GBV) response systems through institutional engagement, policy advocacy, and capacity building.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of project activities across designated districts
- Assist in organizing training sessions, workshops, and community dialogues
- Collect data and support the documentation of human rights violations
- Assist in the development and dissemination of advocacy materials and policy briefs
- Contribute to project reporting and ensure timely submission of activity reports
- Maintain close working relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries
- Support M&E processes, including data entry, feedback collection, and progress tracking
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Social Work, Gender Studies, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in human rights or community-based programming
- Familiarity with LGBTQI+ issues and rights in Lesotho
- Strong organizational and facilitation skills
- Ability to work in diverse and inclusive team environments
Reporting
- Directly reports to Project Manager
