Description

The Human Impacts Institute (HII) is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator at 35 hrs a week. The ideal candidate is passionate and knowledgeable about climate and social justice issues and is creative, organized, and self-driven.  

Position

Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as an integral member of the HII Crew, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for helping facilitate and coordinate our diverse international programs, including in-person and virtual exhibits, events, and workshops. They will also work with our Crew for program monitoring and evaluation, fundraising, and communications.

Pay and Benefits

  • The Program Coordinator position pays $40,000 annually based on 35 hours per week. 
  • Flexible scheduling with possibility for four or five-day workweek. 
  • Four weeks paid vacation annually, plus 10 paid statutory holidays. 
  • Unlimited unpaid vacation (subject to advance approval).
  • Annual HSA contributions and IRA matches available.

Expectations and Responsibilities  

Program Coordination 

  • Coordination of program goals, deliverables, and metrics.
  • Maintain annual program timelines and roadmaps.
  • Assistance in program development and organizational outreach.
  • Assistance in supporting interns, fellows, and volunteers.
  • Drive organization and maintenance. 

Reporting and Fundraising

  • Program reporting and grant writing. 
  • Streamlining and improving M&E of programs. 
  • Drafting of annual reports.

Communications

  • Communications and coordination with programmatic and strategic partnerships.
  • Developing and planning of organizational communications (Newsletter, IG, Facebook, Youtube).
  • Implementation of amplification campaigns (i.e. Google Ads). 

Organization and Strategy 

  • Assistance in the development and coordination of programmatic and strategic partnerships.
  • Co-recruiting and support of interns. 
  • Professional representation of HII at conferences, meetings, and events, when applicable.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years, hands-on experience in the climate justice movement. Additional experience in nonprofits, arts, environment, education or related field(s) would be given preference.
  • Successful track record in developing creative and engaging social media and/or community outreach materials (i.e. newsletters, op eds, etc).
  • Extensive experience working with diverse populations, including frontline communities, youth, and under-represented communities.
  • Excellence project management skills who gets joy from being a self-starter and project multi-tasking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator.
