FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES
The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of PROFESSOR/ ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN MIDWIFERY AND NEONATAL NURSING.
1.0 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- PhD in Nursing with specialization in Midwifery and Neonatal Care at Masters level
- At least 10 publications in Refereed/Accredited Journals.
- At least three years in teaching experience and supervising post graduate learners at university level.
- Be registered with the National Nursing Council.
- Experience in curriculum development and Measurement and Evaluation.
2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the design of new postgraduate programs/courses in the Department.
- Provide leadership role to the Department of Nursing.
- Participate in implementing Competency-based and E-learning curricula.
- Conduct teaching at undergraduate and post graduate levels.
- Enhance research and publications in learners and junior teaching staff.
- Promote team-building in the Department and Faculty
- Ability to source research grants.
- Undertake research and supervises students’ dissertations.
- Participate in research activities in the Department
- Liaises with other departments in the faculty.
- Initiate, participate in and perform any other duty including administration as would be required from time to time by the Head of the Department.

- Contact details for three referees, one of whom should ideally be the applicant’s current or prior immediate superior.
- Publications reflecting the applicant’s most important research project (up to five publications). In the case of multi-author papers, the applicant should clearly outline their contribution to the work.

The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Type of employment:
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for Locals, and Two Years’ Contract for Non-Locals with a possibility of renewal.
