Ikamva Labantu is a non-profit organisation that works throughout Cape Town’s township communities towards a more just society where human rights can be fully actualised. We have a holistic and community-led approach to the sustainable development of impoverished communities, with a focus on early childhood development, the wellbeing of older persons and afterschool initiatives for children. We have been working with at-risk communities for over 55 years through the provision of resources, training and support.
Ikamva Labantu seeks to appoint a Profesional Nurse to be based in Enkululekweni Wellness Centre in Khayelitsha.
The purpose of this role is to deliver direct clinical services, train staff and liaise with relevant stakeholders to enhance services for our senior citizens. The successful candidate will report to the Programme Manager.

Minimum Requirements & Competencies:
Registered Nurse (Provision of proof of registration with HPCSA/Nursing Council – annually).
A Qualification in Administration or Community Development would be advantageous.
At least five years’ experience in managing projects and/or programmes and staff.
Driver’s Licence and own vehicle as well as the willingness to work within township areas.
Good verbal and written English skills with isiXhosa being advantageous.
Ability to work flexible hours when required.
Computer literacy in MS Office.
Demonstrated experience in:

follow up and through of a variety of pieces of work;
proven problem solving ability;
proven planning and organising ability;
good interpersonal skills;
the ability to impart knowledge;
confidentiality, judgement, commitment and driving for results.
