Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Lesotho (BCMCFL), is the result of a public-private partnership between Baylor College of Medicine International Pediatric AIDS Initiative and the Government of Lesotho, and is a legal, non-profit/tax exempt organization registered in Lesotho. BCMCFL provides free pediatric and family-centred HIV and tuberculosis prevention, care, treatment and support, serving thousands of children and families affected by HIV, TB, or other child health conditions.

BCMCFL is looking for highly qualified local candidates to fill in the following positions available on a full-time, Fixed-Term, Special Contract basis.

Professional Counsellors (x 21)   (Facility based positions)   Berea (x 8) Leribe (x7) Machabeng (x2) Tebellong (x2) Quthing (x2)Position overview The Professional Counsellor will support Hospital/Health facility team on HTS and TB activities and adherence to care and treatment of patients.  The  Professional Counsellor  will report directly  to Lead Counsellor and will be required to travel 25% within project district.   Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  
•    Provide PSS to children and adolescent living with HIV in collaboration with other implementing partners
•    Provide HTS as health facility and linkages of patients to care and treatment to adults and children at the health facilities
•    Support scaling up of HIVST and Index Testing
•    Ascertain performance and documentation on index testing and  partner  notification  according  to  MoH  guidelines  and SOPs
•    Support   outreach   initiatives   to   systematically   integrate Provider-Initiated Testing and Counselling and Client Initiated
Testing and Counselling (CITC)
•    Ensure optimization of PITC in order to increase positivity yield
•    Ensures that the HTS registers are completed correctly and timely
•    Collect and capture HTC data monthly for each site and report accordingly
•    Accurate and timely submission of reports
•    Perform other tasks assigned by the administration
•     Degree   in   Social   Work/Pastoral   Care   and Counselling
•     Minimum of 4 years’ experience in HIV Testing Services
•     Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
•     Good  report  writing,  training  and  computer skills
•     Willingness to adapt to the changing demands of the position
•     Willingness to work flexible hours in order to meet targets
