We are looking for the following skill: Products and Data Analyst

Department: Sales, Distribution, Product & Marketing

Main Purpose

Reporting to the Product Owner, Products and Data Analyst (PDA) provides business insights utilising advanced Business Intelligence visualisation tools, to enable management’s data-driven decision-making around key strategic levers. The PDA supports products and data driven projects through establishing business requirements, developing dashboards utilising advanced Business Intelligence tools, data validation, testing and preparation of associated test plans, dashboard training and drive automation of reports.

Position Requirements

Education

A Bachelors’ Degree in Data Science/Statistics/Financial Engineering/Business Intelligence.

Experience

The incumbent must have at least 3 years’ experience in data analysis or MIS with a strong knowledge of business intelligence development.

Certifications

Specialization certificates in Data Analysis or Business Intelligence field is an added advantage.

Knowledge

Basic understanding of product development roadmap and product lifecycle; Strong data and analytics skills with experience working with multiple data sources, analytical tools and query languages like SQL.

• Strong mathematical and numeracy skills.

• Understanding of reporting & data visualisation tools.

• Excellent analytical skills – the ability to identify trends, patterns and insights from data.

• Strong attention to detail and keen problem solver.

• Presentation skills – ability to write and speak clearly to easily communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand.

• Experience with PowerBI is advantageous.

• Hold a swift ability to learn and understand the business and its reporting requirements.

• Must enjoy working with numbers and bringing structure to complex datasets.

• Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.

• Ability to learn and apply learnings.

Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Business Intelligence Development

• Identify and extract data from primary and secondary data sources.

• Prepare data for analysis; perform statistical analysis; create meaningful data visualizations and predict future trends.

• Analyse data to derive solutions for specific business issues.

• Create data visualisation and interactive dashboards to assist in the preparation of reports.

• Manage existing reports/dashboards through ongoing production of MIS outputs to ensure consistent information supply in the required format/frequency.

• Analyze derived information to create value added knowledge of products, channels, service levels, trends, or customers.

Products Support

• Identify patterns and trends for product performance in the market, and subsequently monitor sales numbers.

• Conduct regular evaluations to assess product performance against goals and benchmarks over their lifecycle.

• Identify areas of improvement and recommend strategies for optimization.

• Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.

• Analyze market data and customer feedback to identify market opportunities.

• Provide insights on target market segments and potential customer segments.

• Monitor all digital channels to spot issues and bugs to improve customer experience.

• Conduct customer research, interviews, and usability testing to gather feedback on digital channels usability and satisfaction.

• Recommend digital channels enhancements and features to improve customer experience.

• Plan and execute products and channels tests during UAT and post implementation.

• Act as Digital Channels champion; train internal staff and drive customer usage.
