What you can expect

Responsible for controlling all activities relating to the monomer tank farm, finish products tank farm and the raw material make up area. Supervise staff associated with these activities. Assist the warehouse controller in his activities. Core responsibilities will include the following:

  • Receive monomer from bulk delivery vehicle. To carry out all necessary checks and document it. Check and complete a goods receive note (GRN) if no defect is identified
  • Receive diesel into storage tank
  • Ensure that only undamaged and clean product is packed and sent to customers
  • Load vehicles & tankers as per customer order & ensure that the load is evenly distributed as per axle configurations
  • Pack liquid chemicals into flow bins and tanks as per plant requirements e.g. Methacrylic acid, acrylamide, etc as well emulsifiers, ammonia, etc in the raw material make up area
  • Check goods returned notes against goods returned and endorse documents as required
  • Cycle count of specific stock (as per schedule and procedure, reports to be submitted monthly)
  • Ensure all stock classified as flammable, toxic etc is stored in the correct areas i.e. Flammable Goods in the flammable store
  • Report damaged materials to the Supply Chain Manager for stock adjustment
  • Keep records of purchased orders, packing slips & stores weighing requisitions issued to the plant
  • Manage storm-water first flush pit, waste management area as well as diesel storage tank
  • Ensure the safe use of forklifts and reach trucks. Carry out daily forklift maintenance routines
  • Report all faults and deviation on forklifts to the Production Manager
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and clear of damage/broken pallets and superfluous materials
  • Investigate all incidents and accidents on shift, take correction action to prevent the recurrence
  • Maintain aspects of the Quality Management System (i.e. calibration records, process log sheet)
  • Implement necessary procedures to ensure that conform to specification on a first-time basis
  • Investigate all quality incidents and ensure effective action is taken to prevent recurrence

What we expect

  • Grade 12 with Maths and Science / NQF level 2 in Chemical Operation learnership (Preferred – Supervisory skills / NQF level 3 Chemical Operations Learnership)
  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years’ work experience in the stock / warehouse environment
  • Forklift and reach truck license
  • Computer literacy – MS Office (i.e. Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of current Labour and Occupational Health & Safety legislation
