Production Sorter (Patterson CL Band)
Letseng Diamonds seeks to engage a Mosotho professional with appropriate skills and aptitude to fill the position of Production Sorter (Patterson CL Band).
Purpose
To efficiently and securely carry out primary sorting of concentrate, and accurately account for daily diamond production, as well as provide primary descriptions of special diamonds recovered.
Main Outputs and Responsibilities
- Efficiently and securely carry out primary sorting of diamonds in accordance with established Sorthouse procedures.
- Perform daily diamond counting, weighing, and record keeping in accordance with Sorthouse Standard Operating Procedures.
- Capture results accurately and timeously on the specified systems.
- Conduct general Sorthouse administrative tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness within the Sorthouse.
- Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Report and advise the Sorthouse Supervisor on daily production matters, including changes in minerals and diamond concentration during primary sorting.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- COSC qualification; a post-school qualification will be an added advantage.
- Certificate in Diamond Grading and Evaluation.
- One (1) to two (2) years’ experience in diamond handling or an equivalent environment.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge and understanding of diamond handling procedures and practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to utilise the appropriate computer software and relevant system functionality required for the role.
- Ability to work in a strict and regulated environment.
Legal Requirements
- Candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment integrity testing, including polygraph examinations and background checks.
