Production Designer Apprenticeship (Remote/Part-Time)

Help support this mission by becoming a production design apprentice who focuses on creating branded themes for our white-label applications.

You’ll gain experience working on real-world fintech products. You’ll learn the ins and outs of designing a white-label application. You’ll build skills with industry software, and you’ll develop relationships by being a contributing member of our product design team.

This paid apprenticeship offers you the ability to create a work schedule that fits around your life. As long as you can work some of your time during business hours, we can create a schedule around your needs. We’re 100% remote, which means you can live and work wherever you like within the USA. We will supply you with the equipment you will need for the position.

During a training period and onboarding process you’ll focus on learning our technologies, tooling’s, and expectations. You’ll be supported by a mentor who you can call on at any time to answer questions and guide you along the way.

This position may be worked 100% remotely or from Cedar Falls, IA.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have knowledge of or experience with visual design (UI/UX).
  • Must be available to work a minimum 15 hours per week.
  • Must have basic understanding of design craft (typography, hierarchy, color, and composition).


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Sketch and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable working and collaborating from a remote environment.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Take a logo asset provided by a financial institution and use your eye for design to select color and image pairings that create a beautiful and cohesive theme across our applications.
  • Meet accessibility best practices when selecting colors.
  • Communicate with the implementation coordinator and design mentor to address customer questions and requests.
  • Export approved themes so that they can be included in application builds.
  • Possible opportunities to:
  • Assist in QA of product features.
    • Participate in weekly design team conversations where we discuss current projects, industry news, and best practices.
    • Assist designers in production work of product features.
