The F Band EHOD Product Owner: Robotics Process Automation (RPA) CBU/EBU role is based within Commercial Operations

The role of the EHOD Product Owner: RPA CBU/EBU is to define and deliver on our automation strategy by utilizing robotics to fully or partially automate processes and ensuring that the new automated journeys are streamlined and support great experiences.

The Product Owner takes accountability for all RPA opportunities across the CBU & EBU business units. The Product Owner will drive the empowerment of our people and customers using robotic process automation and other technologies to do so. This role functions in an Agile tribe and squad structure and is the key decision maker on priorities and design decisions at each stage of the product development lifecycle.

The Product Owner represents the business stakeholders and is the voice of the customer guiding individual DevOps teams, responsible for ensuring that the delivery team delivers value to the business according to the outcome vision.

This role is responsible for the definition of customer-centric items or user stories from the capability/feature roadmap defined by the Tribe Lead, ranking and prioritizing them, and adding them to the team backlog.

This role will work closely with the Release Train Engineer/Agile Programme Manager and Scrum Master in coordinating day-to-day activities such as sprint planning, retrospectives and other agile functions to ensure collaboration and effective delivery of user stories against commercial milestone objectives. The Product owner works to Agile principles, and will be responsible for the prioritization and delivery of the backlog of change initiatives to maximize business benefit of the products and features we offer.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

  • Define the RPA strategy and update quarterly to inform product and feature roadmaps

  • P&L accountability; responsible for delivering on automation against revenue and cost targets

  • Own, drive, and focus squads on delivery of business value and roadmaps

  • Engage stakeholders for communications and decision-making

  • Rank and prioritise user stories / items and add them to the team backlog for sprint development, conveying a clear vision of what is required to be built

  • Approve the final release plan and accept all deliverables against defined user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Analyse and report delivery risks and opportunities, and engage stakeholders for communications and decision making

  • Participate in retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities

  • Acts as single point of business contact for the DevOps team

  • Manage the financial plan for the delivery team, providing forecasts

  • Developing and executing on insights driven strategies and plans to grow the usage of AI for all segments of Vodacom customers through including funnel analysis, heat maps, journey analytics and abandonment rates

  • Manage relationships with key suppliers

  • Forge a close working relationship with local market management teams and develop product communities to share best practice and execute key initiatives

Essential :

  • Agile practices and methodologies
  • Experience working as a Product Owner in an Agile organisation
  • Deep knowledge of Agile ways of working, ceremonies and artefacts
  • Experience working with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence Programme Increment (PI) Planning.
  • Strong experience in Customer Experience Transformation.
  • Natural ‘servant’ leader with excellent written and verbal communications skills to drive alignment with the product vision

  • Strong business acumen with in-depth understanding of the contribution of the domain to the wider digital business strategy

  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills across the business and technical domain

  • Understanding of both the current Telecommunications and digital services market and emerging business trends
