Product Administrator

Objectives of the Position:

Mercedes-Benz South Africa is looking for a Product Administrator to ensure efficient and effective product planning support according to specified processes in order to optimize market share, profitability and customer appeal while controlling related costs in compliance to the Company’s Integrity Code.

Main Tasks:

Management of master data:

  • Support Product Specialists in derivation of Product Strategies, especially via creating and maintaining product details into National Tour Price List (nTPL) for Product and Pricing Master data system.

  • Actively manage this on a regular and ad hoc basis and ensuring correctness of outsourced data suppliers.

  • Understanding & relaying the impact of model year changes and other Product information for the local market at least 3 months before change date by maintaining close contact with responsible product specialist and HQ Prod. Management.

Publication of Product-related Measures:

  • Ensure timely update & publication (i.e. by a product circular) of revised product contents or specifications and pricelists.

  • Ensure accurate updates of product changes on the Mercedes-Benz Website (incl. configurator) through close collaboration with relevant department.

  • Ensure timely preparation of product information and material for stakeholder engagement.

Product pricing and positioning support:

Support product specialist in preparing, researching, analysing and compiling relevant pricing and positioning material for management/business decisions.

Vehicle Homologation:

Preparation of information and reports to allow all new vehicles and/or innovations are timeously homologated with NRCS/ICASA prior to introduction into SA market.

Projects and Reporting:

Support projects and required ad-hoc-reporting relating to product, technology or models in order to allow product specialists and management to timely and efficiently achieve project milestones.

Preparation Typeclass-based Input for quarterly Stock-Specification Meeting:

To create and provide accurate product information take rates and offering concept for regular meetings in order to enable decisions to be taken.

Self-Development: Taking personal responsibility for learning and development through a process of assessment, reflection and actioning. This can include both on and/or off the job training. This also includes the sharing of learnings with team.

Experience:

2-3 years’ experience in specialised field in the automotive industry.
