Sentebale is looking to appoint a procurement specialist to review the procurement processes in Sentebale Lesotho and provide a comprehensive assessment of their effectiveness, efficiency, equitability and alignment with the organisation’s goals and reputation.

Overview

Sentebale is a charity organisation founded by The Duke of Sussex and Prince Seeiso in 2006. We support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana.

Scope

The procurement review will cover:

  • An analysis of the current procurement practices, procedures, policies, and systems.
  • An assessment of compliance with policies, procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Specific review of:
    • Facilities for district meetings – this includes halls, food, and beverages.
    • Employee accommodation whilst working away from home – how is it decided where different employees stay, and does the policy and process ensure equal treatment for all staff.
    • Procurement of transport providers.
  • Identification and evaluation of risks associated with the procurement processes.
  • Assessment of risk mitigation strategies and the controls in place.
  • Auction of Sentebale equipment – A review of policies, process and an assessment of how these can be optimised to ensure equitable access for all staff.

Duration of review

The review should cover September 2022 to January 2024.

Reporting and deliverables

  • Clear and well-structured report outlining key findings, analysis, and recommendations for any remedial action identified.
  • The report should cover the specific findings, analysis and recommendations for items mentioned in bullet 3 of the scope above.

Proposal specifications

  • Fees for the engagement.
  • Describe similar engagements that your firm has undertaken.
  • The level of experience of the individuals that would be assigned to this engagement.
  • Your basic approach to performing the review and the resulting advantages to our organisation.
  • Describe any existing or potential relationships between your firm and our organisation and any employee agency that could affect your independence and objectivity because of an actual or perceived conflict of interest.
