Advertisement for Project Management Unit Positions
The Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition (MAFSN), will be implementing a project on Building Climate Smart Resilient Livelihoods and Food Systems.
This five-year project will be implemented in four sub-catchments: Hlotse, Maletsunyane, Seaka, and Stanteng, and is financed by the Government of Lesotho, the Global Environment Facility (GEF), and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
The proposed project aims to enhance climate resilience of landscapes and communities for food and nutrition security through sustainable water management.
The MAFSN has established key positions for the Project Coordination Unit and invites applications from suitably qualified professionals for the following positions:
Position: Procurement Officer
Reports to: Project Coordinator
Duty Station: Maseru, Lesotho
Job Summary:
Responsible for the entire procurement cycle, ensuring compliance with FAO and project requirements. Maintain project-wide procurement filing systems.
Responsibilities:
- Recommend procurement section adjustments in PIM.
- Ensure timely and ethical procurement actions.
- Coordinate with service providers and maintain oversight.
- Support procurement planning, contract management, and activity monitoring.
- Provide technical guidance in bidding and evaluation.
- Ensure procurement documentation and compliance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Postgraduate Diploma/Honours in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration + 6 years’ experience,
OR - Bachelor’s Degree in same fields + 8 years’ experience.
Skills:
- Strong advice-giving and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software.
- High integrity and accountability.
- Fluency in English and Sesotho.
Mode and Duration of Contract:
All positions are offered on a three-year contract, renewable based on satisfactory performance.
